My dance story

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my history with dance, when I started and what I intend to do with it, so I figured I may as well just tell you everything.
I started ballet and jazz at the age of ten and quickly fell in love with dancing to the point of obsession. I wanted nothing more than to improve and one day become a professional. I attended approximately 14 hours of classes each week and practiced at home constantly. I couldn’t think about anything, but ballet and dancing. This continued for two years. Unfortunately though, when I was almost thirteen, I went through a very traumatic experience and had to move, leaving my studio and my passion for dance behind. I became cold and distant, and consequently, focused completely on my school work and didn’t dance for a year or so. Last year I was introduced to my school’s dance program and begin to feel again, and at last, my passion was evoked. I searched for a dance school in the new city I moved to and was lucky enough to find a wonderful and enriching dance school, where I took up ballet and jazz again. I do contemporary, acrobatics, hip-hop and a little tap through my school, but ballet still remains my favourite style. For my future plans? I don’t know. All I know is that I will do everything I can to become to best dancer I can be, whether I make it to a professional level or just continue it as a hobby - as long as I can dance, I will be happy.
